The problem is duplicated meaning
A room can appear in a design document, a commissioning tool, a resident app and a building-management interface. If each surface keeps its own definition, a seemingly simple change becomes a reconciliation problem. Names drift. Device associations diverge. A scene can refer to an entity that no longer means what its author intended.
The engineering object is the connection
In Studio’s SuperChart workbench, a control object has a spatial identity, a control group address, a status group address and a data type. The same work area exposes a KNX YAML preview and ETS CSV export. These are practical connections between a human description of a room and the protocol-level details needed by a system. Draft status and version history remain visible alongside the engineering data.
Author the relationship, then produce the view
The verified Homira platform path starts with a shared authored project. Studio generates app entity lists, scene and automation surfaces, non-KNX configuration lists and edge runtime configuration from that foundation. The useful property is consistency: several surfaces express the same underlying project instead of becoming independent sources of truth.
Design context and site context are different
Tecco’s engineering architecture separates a design-time delivery unit from the installed home. A delivery unit holds the design and preparation context; a home holds the concrete installation and its site-specific corrections. In a house these may be one-to-one. In a multi-residential project one delivery unit may support several homes. Keeping those responsibilities separate matters even when there is no template reuse.
A foundation for future agents
An agent needs more than a list of devices. It needs to know which devices belong to a room, what each can do and which execution boundary applies. A shared model offers a place for that context to live. It does not, by itself, prove that an autonomous agent is ready for unrestricted use; it makes the questions more explicit and the resulting actions easier to inspect.
